Neneh Cherry on The Guardian's Best Albums of 2018!

For her second collaboration with producer Four Tet, trip-hop queen Neneh Cherry takes a quieter turn, focusing her soulful voice on issues including the refugee crisis and the environment, set to twinkling bells and dub. Elements of the Bristol scene that first brought her to fame remain, with Massive Attack’s 3D stopping by, although it’s the steel drum-aided jazz of Natural Skin Deep where Cherry reaches her peak.
