The project of US born, half-Norwegian, half-Mexican singer/songwriter Carmen Hillestad, Carmen Villain makes ethereal yet challenging music. Her debut album 'Sleeper' was released early in 2013 via Smalltown Supersound to great reviews. Tempestuous, psychedelic and dreamlike, Carmen produces music playing with loops, vocals, and drum programming. She draws on a sprawling array of influences, from This Heat, Durutti Column and Sun City Girls, to Todd Rundgren and Crosby Stills & Nash.. Carmen spent the last 12 years living in NYC and London, before recently moving back to her home town Oslo.
